A space for Installation

A space for Installation

Our art collective AAEX works with the local branch of the business development section of the county council to find temporary spaces to host proposed projects. Its rather labour intensive as it requires lots of project management. In this particular project there are 20 of us dividing the tasks at hand. This model we use is rather groundbreaking for our area. We roll in with existing festivals to provide alternative models of cultural engagement. Therefore ticking a few boxes for the coordinators. We bring life to derelict spaces encouraging new views of our local town.

The space has lots of potential. We propose it as a HQ, an exhibition space for installation (there will be no art work for sale) and place for engagement – workshops, artists talks, starting point for an art walk and a place to lounge on couches talk and drink tea.

Over the next few weeks, working with curator Anna we will get a firm vision of how HQ will be presented. In the meantime I am working on producing a number of capes to use in the performance. The plan being that the capes will be installed in HQ in between scheduled performances.
