Dance motion drawing session with AAEX

When my term of taught workshops and classes end in the studio I relish the time I have to myself. I try to catch up with my peers and engage with  whatever is going on. It frustrates me sometimes not to be able to incorporate this more regularly with my work/life balance but being busy with the MA and dialogue with the cohort has done a lot to reduce the feeling of isolation that can occur during the working months.

Yesterday I attended a session called ‘Dance Motion Drawing’ with the artist led ‘Art as Exchange’ group that I am a part of. We availed of a free community space in Dundalk and hired a dancer to improvise dance movement to music for a life sketching session. It was a great opportunity to limber up my drawing and connect again with a live model. Good preparation for the cast shadows painting I will attempt next week once the printing phase is done with.
